Korenda Deploy Link for Jira Pre-order
Pre-order · not built yet

Show your Octopus deployments on the right Jira issues

For teams on Jira Cloud and Octopus Deploy. Add one step to your deploy process, and each release shows up on its Jira issues for every environment.

Full refund any time before delivery. Target delivery: 28 February 2027.

How it works

One step in Octopus. Deploy as usual.

You don't need a new build tool or any extra scripts.

  1. Install the app

Add it to your Jira Cloud site. Copy your webhook URL and secret.

  2. Add one step

Add our step template to your Octopus process. You can use a plain curl step instead.

  3. Deploy

Each release shows on its Jira issues for every environment. If a key doesn't match, the diagnostics page tells you why.

The problem

The Deployments panel stays empty, and nobody can say why

Here are two thread titles from the public Octopus help forum, copied exactly:

"can not find valid associations when updating Jira Cloud on deployment"

Thread title, Octopus Deploy help forum.

"error 400"

Thread title, Octopus Deploy help forum.

The current Octopus app for Jira Cloud was last updated to version 1.0.9-AC in August 2022. It runs on Atlassian Connect, and Atlassian is ending support for Connect.

When a link fails, you get an error code and nothing to fix.

Scope

What the first version will and won't do

v1 will

  • Webhook URL and secret. Each Jira site gets its own.
  • One Octopus step. Use a step template or a plain curl step.
  • Deployments in Jira. Shown on each issue for every environment.
  • Fix versions. Optional: set from the release name.
  • Diagnostics page. Lists every event received and why each key did or didn't match.

v1 will not

  • Export release notes
  • Come with tested support for CD tools other than Octopus
  • Work with Jira Data Center or Server
  • Read your source code

Release notes and other CD tools are planned. They are not part of what this pre-order promises.

Founding offer

It's not a fit yet if you use Jira Data Center, or a CD tool other than Octopus.

Questions

What does Octopus send to the app?

Only what your step sends: the release name, environment, status, and issue keys or commit messages. No source code.

Does it work with a self-hosted Octopus Server?

Yes, as long as your server or worker can make outbound HTTPS requests to the webhook URL.

Why would an issue key not match?

Common reasons are a project key that isn't on your site, a typo, or a key missing from the commit message. The diagnostics page shows the reason for each key.

What happens after the first 12 months?

You move to the Marketplace price: free for up to 10 users, then about $1 per user per month. You can also uninstall the app.

How do I get a refund?

Email georgi@korenda.com. Before delivery, you can ask for any reason. After delivery, you have 30 days if it doesn't work with your setup.

Who's behind it

Korenda is run by Georgi Dimitrov. Questions about your Octopus setup are welcome at georgi@korenda.com. Pre-order customers will get progress updates by email.

Privacy

The app will run on Atlassian Forge. It receives only the release name, environment, status, and issue keys or commit messages that your Octopus step sends. It never receives source code.
